Essential material for contemporary musical theatre vocalists By DukeOfSin Fantastic collection of songs for musical theatre singers looking to contemporize their repertoire. Plenty of pieces ideal for auditions or cabaret performances. Favourites include "Avalanche," "Run Away With Me," "Sadie," and "How to Return Home." "My Party Dress" is a tour-de-force for a young comedienne with a good command of her vocal instrument, and "Vegas" is a hilarious duet for two strong male vocalists with a good sense of rhythm and killer comic timing. Kerrigan and Lowdermilk deftly blend classic character-driven musical theatre writing with the emotional incisiveness of the modern singer-songwriter tradition. Highly recommended!
