About the Author
Carrie Chen Jun, born and raised in Shanghai, takes on a labor of love when she tells the story of her grandmother, the Chinese Huai opera artist known professionally as Xiao Wenyan. Now living in Spain, Chen Jun works as a cross-cultural trainer, lecturing about China to English and Spanish speaking audiences. She also blogs in Spanish about Chinese mythology and culture.

A biography of the author's grand-mother who was determined to do what she loves most, singing opera. The book reads well and has many footnotes to educate anyone who is interested in Chinese opera. Many facts related to the history and the life at the changing time in China. A debut book for Carrie.
