He has a way of creating a complete story on every page of this very colorful book. His characters are animated to the point that they almost literally leap from the screen into the reader's lap. They are not only humorous, thought-provoking, and at times, disturbing, but also totally whimsical.This book reminds me of more than a few of the famous cartoonists and illustrators back in the early to mid 20th Century.Steve Cartwright's usage of classic black and white illustrations scattered in the book is a brilliant move. These add diversity, a brief pause, and variety within the presentation.The limited text that he uses is very effective in wetting the visual appetite of the reader for more works to come...I hope.We are given a glimpse into the mind of an excellent artist with every page we turn.Steve Cartwright is an amazing artist and accomplished writer. I'm looking forward to more.Keep them coming, Steve Cartwright!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A whimsical delight! By Pearl I totallly adore this book of illustrations. They delight my sense of whimsy. His color choices and use of textures are unexpected. Each page has unique characters which in most cases exhibit a twist of humor reminding me of the Saturday afternoon "Creature Features" of my youth.I look forward to more works by this author.
