She has dreams, she has virtues, she has feelings and sense, but she is a fembot in a brutally masculine world. Gruesome, gross, hilarious and disturbing this is still, somehow, a weirdly touching and poignant story that will draw you in, if you can keep your stomach.

Fair warning: it is set in a depraved world and Werbeloff does not hold back on the gruesome imagery. Against a backdrop of mysogyny, indentured labour and cannabilsm, the main character is beautifully sympathetic.My heart swelled with every scene and in the end it imploded. If you are looking for a visceral, haunting read then you've come to the right place.Notably, the author respects the intellectual and emotional maturity of his audience. By shelly The first few lines had me laughing (in horrified disbelief - did I REALLY just read that?!) and cringing at the same time which is a pretty rare feat. Another wonderful short by a talented author this tale of misogynistic sex and cannibalism manages to be grotesque and poignant at the same time. Highly recommended, unless you're squeamish. And maybe wait to read this one after, not during, your backyard barbecue.
