The women pictured here suffer harsh mistreatment in their societies, and Mark Tuschman wants us to go beyond statistics about child marriage, rape, violence, and poverty and see these people in all their humanity. The images accomplish that powerfully.

Fallon As a photographer myself, I'm certainly aware of how difficult it can be to approach and photograph subjects in circumstances like Mark has so successfully done in this beautiful new book. Just look in the eyes of these women and girls! The trust towards Mark and his camera is so very evident in these evocative portraits that fill this extraordinary book. He's captured their dignity, even in the extreme circumstances many of them are pictured in, but they also appear to have hope for the future (again, look in their eyes), thanks to his ability to put them at ease, thus allowing their positive personalities to surface. And his control of the light that wraps around them... just amazing!Every NGO Director and charitable foundation President needs to have this book on their desk to remind them how great photography can move people to take action, or at least to open their wallets to support others who do.

Mark Tuschman's Book is Breathtaking By Douglas Kreitz Mark Tuschman's ability to capture the moment, the emotion, and the incredible quality of light in his images are without peer. This book will transform your view of women and their lives in third world countries. You will see imitate portraits that reflect their struggles and their triumphs. This book is a treasure to own. You will pick it up again and again because you will be drawn to look again into the eyes of these incredible women and children -- you will see courage, strength and, most importantly, hope for future generations.
