About the Author
Born in Chicago, Judy Watson has always lived in the realm of creativity and the arts. She studied writing at Arizona State University, and she has written short stories and presented a small narrative history. Her brother was an illustrator in film and TV, and her husband was an award-winning TV cameraman. Her son is presently a writer and executive producer at DreamWorks, while her daughter is a gifted artist and photographer who worked for years in animation.
When her mother left hidden photographs, books, letters, manuscripts, tapes, and diaries to Watson, she knew she needed to make this compelling firsthand look inside the golden age of Hollywood available to the public.
Watson has three grandchildren and currently lives with her two dogs and three cats in Westlake Village, California, where she has been for the past forty-seven years. “Wings” and Other Recollections of Early Hollywood is her first book.

I liked all the interesting tid bits about early Hollywood and the characters who created it especially how the different big studios got their starts. I'm amazed at how the author, Judy Watson, put it all together from scraps of paper and old recordings. I think anyone would like this book but old movie buffs, and there are lots of them, would eat it up. Often when I finish a book I feel I'd like my money back but with this book I feel I got my money's worth and then some. Wow!

Rare, touching, jaw-dropping stories from Hollywood’s beginnings with never-heard-before true tales of the movie pioneers. Takes you back in time to the Golden Age of Film, like no other book or documentary. What a great life Richard Arlen led! He was Present At The Creation of Hollywood! A can’t-put-it-down, have-to-read-it-if-takes-all-night type of MUST READ BOOK!

It's mostly a biography of one of my favorite actors from early Hollywood, Richard Arlen, whom also shares his various adventures with other actors such as Buddy Rogers and Gary Cooper. There's also the story behind one of the best black and white films ever made- Wings. You also get a nostalgic taste of what life was like in early Hollywood. Get familiar with who was who, and all the different changes that occurred over time in the motion picture industry. Very enjoyable book, especially for those like myself whom are fascinated with early Hollywood and the detailed life of a great former star.
