1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. a charming biography indeed By RJ NUEVAS i'm a great fan of audrey hepburn (and other actors from the golden age of hollywood, especially bette davis), so this book is such a delight to me, with 177 never before seen photos (at least to me). i knew that she grew up during the second world war but i never knew of the details. this book enlightened me about her life during the german occupation of holland and how that impacted her throughout her life. her rise to superstardom was detailed here. in other books and some write ups, there were malicious innuendoes of affairs with some of her co-actors, like william holden and albert finney; but in this book, they were debunked. actually, this book is kinda "clean" in terms of gossips. overall, it is enlightening but kinda lacking in the gossip department that usually pepper some of the biographies of hollywood stars during its golden days.
