Award-winning book that recently earned acclaim from the prestigious Next Generation Indie Book Awards!
When his mind creates the mission, this soldier must rely on one woman to guide him home.In a world where nightmares are real, this is the story of a soldier's heroism and a woman's devotion. Ryan is lost in a coma, living his own nightmare of deployment, and trying to find his way home. While desperately fighting his family to keep him on life-support, will his fiancé be able to influence his dreams and guide him home before he becomes trapped in this war forever?
What readers are saying:This book told a story of devotion. One women's battle to save her husband, a military man, while his mom attempts to have him removed from all life support. But the story is deeper, because she joins with him while dreaming, as he battles overseas, fighting for our freedoms. I would recommend this book without pause, because it touches issues of loyalty and devotion.—Jim

About the Author Claire St. Hilaire's love of writing began at age six when she wrote her first short story - a total of three lines. Later, in college, she almost failed Math because, instead of algebraic equations, her notes were filled with poetry and book ideas. To this day Claire is never found far from pen and paper - or a calculator.

I enjoyed this read By Dennis Murphy In Claire's first book, she frames the story in a very unique fashion and tackles the oft-misunderstood ways PTSD influences lives. I enjoyed this read, and I found the characters interesting and invested in their story. Her writing style is unrefined, and some of the technical errors are distracting, but I am thoroughly looking forward to her next book!

Inseparable Review By Nakiah Reiter From the introduction, I believed I would be reading a story from many points of view, or even perhaps several different stories throughout the book. That was not really the case. The story was mainly told from two perspectives: Vela and Ryan, the featured couple. What I liked:The story seemed very linear to me, with a clear direction from beginning to end. It was easy to follow and to understand where you were along the plot line. The descriptions of warfare seemed very vivid and well researched. Some of the imagery and figurative language was quite well-phrased and striking. What could have been better:Better technical editing. There were numerous typos and punctuation errors (every page had at least one), especially missing commas and words that were mistaken for similar words, i.e. using "course" instead of "coarse."More fully developed exposition of main characters and their relationship. I felt as if the story wanted to compel me to believe in the TRUE LOVE CONQUERS ALL theme between Vela and Ryan, but as he spends most of the story in a coma, I really needed a more thorough foundation for their relationship in order for me to believe in them.More deliberate exploration of the supernatural nature of Ryan and Vela's shared dreaming experiences, i.e. how that could have happened, could Vela influence any control over it, was it in any way connected to Ryan's brain function during his coma, etc.A purpose for Vela's letters to her father. If these were only to show us her thoughts, it would have been better to use conversation or the third person omniscient narrative. If these were to give her advice, then it should have come from another present character with some kind of measurable outcome that was then part of the denoument. Or her father should have come, present, into the story to be more than just the letters.Omitting the perspective from the Arab woman. About 80% through the story, we are given a brief period in the narrative through her perspective. This is not consistent with the prior story telling, and feels out of place. I suspect that I understand the purpose of this digression, which was well intentioned, but it was still not executed well.Lastly, and just for the reader's information, this is an adult book, including adult themes, vulgar language, graphic violence, and one scene that may disturb more sensitive (especially female) readers.
