I found myself not wanting to put it down and was so sad when I finally finished the last page. Ms. Nazarian captures the spirit, heart and passion of each woman showcased in this incredible book. I feel inspired to buy this as a gift for every woman I know.. a way to pay it forward. Women empowering other women. Best book I have read in a very very VERY long time!

I was surprised in a good way by the size of the book, almost coffee table size. The illustrations and quotes are amazing. I may have to buy another copy for my nieces graduation!

By Sheldon Jackson Vai Amazon Prime, I just got this book today and love it! The shoot themes are exotic and dreamy with beautiful models of all shades of the spectrum. The images are large and grand and as a photog myself, I'll really enjoyed the lighting on most, although with some of the black female models the lighting was a little to dark and low for my taste. but the book for me was worth the cheddar, I'll own it proudly as a part of my library.

From the Author It took me and my husband Myles over five years to write this book. We researched exact dates and times, going through documents and pictures pertaining to each story. All this could only substantiate his adventure even more, this is his legacy after all, it had to be accurate. Writing about his life 'On Stage'  I discovered so many wonderful things about his career that I hadn't really known about this amazingly talented man, those were the easy chapters. He was truly a pioneer in his field in many, many ways.  Off Stage' was a bit more difficult for me to write about at first, most of the stories he talked about I knew, but then some stories that I was hearing for the first time, were sobering to say the least. To hear things first hand, directly from the horses mouth, was challenging and maybe just a little uncomfortable for sure. There was way to much information for me to take in, and putting it into words was difficult at times. I would find it hard to disassociate myself  from the character because the character was my husband!  I was so involved in writing this story there were days I just had to get up and walk away from my desk, I was too close to the subject, it became unnerving to comprehend. As I composed the words from his notes I found myself so upset with the character for no other reason than for just being him or his absence of judgement and  not making  better choices along his journey. I would try to understand his lack of hind site which played a very big part in it all. I would have to remind myself I had no control over how his life played out, this was how he played the cards he was dealt and I needed to separate my personal connection to him to  be objective.  All these things, good and bad, I needed to know and absorb to tell his extraordinary story.  In the end, what a wonderful story it turned out to be.  I'm proud of this man for surviving the highs and the lows of such a tumultuous journey, and I am even more proud he chose me to write about it ~ Linda Williams Marsden

Love getting lost in a true story and finding new worlds and adventures without leaving your recliner? Read this book....I did in two days! Fun, insightful, poignant, written in an easy, conversational style that grabs you from the first moment and makes you feel the author is sitting across from you in a coffee shop or your living room. Brings to life the truthful story of a supremely talented yet troubled man with an audacious spirit.

There is so much going on here.First, the title of this book should be The Whining of Myles Marsden.The book is filled with anger, bitterness and jealousy. It seems that both Myles and Linda would benefit from some serious therapy. They are stuck in hate mode and feeding off each other’s misery.This is obviously a self-published book. The manuscript had to have been sent to a Vanity press and publication was at the author’s expense. I say this because the book is very poorly written, perhaps on a fourth grade level. No ligament publishing company would have let this go as is, unedited.Most likely all the reviews were written by their friends. I can’t imagine anyone who read this book would find it a good read. I would not have paid full price for this but found it at a local library fund raiser on the Buck a Bag table.If Linda Marsden fancies herself a writer she would benefit from some basic grammar lessons as well as a few courses in Creative Writing.She has mixed tenses in the same sentence, says “for Myles and I” instead of Myles and me, she misuses words which change the meaning of the sentence. This is just scratching the surface.Myles is indignant about Herci’s embellishment of her experience and credentials insisting that she is a liar. Wait, isn’t that what his mother did? She was “beefing up” Herci’s resume, “promoted” her to soloist, lied about her attending the Legat school, gave her credits in ballets where she didn’t perform. So, now he’s angry because Herci is following the example set by Eileen Marsden who said “No one would challenge this. This is how publicity works”. He can’t have it both ways.Myles is an alcoholic and a womanizer by his own confession. There were many affairs during his marriage to Herci.Yet, when he sees her falling in love with another man, he goes into a drunken rage. Maybe his granddaughter was right. It was a man’s world. Good for him but not for his wife.The State Ballet web site says the company was founded by the Marsden family. It does not say Myles and Herci. However, in a program shown in this book, it reads “Founded as a non-profit organization through the efforts of Herci and Myles Marsden”. Those words come from Eileen Marsden. Why is Myles blaming Herci for this? He should direct his anger toward his mother. She fed the lies to the public.Myles wants credit for what the State Ballet is today. He forgot that he walked away from it forty years ago. The company is what it is today only through the determination and hard work of Herci Marsden. Myles has no part in the success it has become.He should heed the words of his daughter. “No one cares anymore”. He needs to get over it and move on. It does him no good to be stuck in the past and what might have been,Yes, she is known as Ms Marsden. It is her professional name granted, as Myles stated, by the court. There was no expiration date on this ruling. Maybe he and Linda don’t like it, but so what? Why are they dwelling on something that is in the past? Are they unable to get beyond this and have a happy life?Yes, she is known as Ms Marsden. It is her professional name granted, as Myles stated, by the court. Does he never grow up?All in all, this book is trash. Its only purpose is to serve as a vehicle to vent their hatred for Herci Marsden.

Paddock I just finished The Chronicles of Myles Marsden: On Stage and Off. I truly enjoyed the entire book! It was a gripping, edge of my seat ride through a recurring series of events, some wonderful, joyous, triumphant, others sad and near tragic, bouncing back and forth, up and down. There is no down time, zero. It just keeps moving along without a break, leaving me suspended, thinking, needing to know “What will happen next?! Now what?! Holy mackerel! How will this end?!” over and over throughout the entirety of the book. I was in constant need to find out what would be next or how something would play out or what would follow. It was very difficult to put down just so I could get some desperately needed sleep (I read it in 2 days).Thank you Myles and Linda for a most exciting picture of the Myles Marsden legacy. Great book! Wonderful read!

Very cool hybrid of jigsaw and regular Sudoku that requires much more focus and concentration - I love the dragons and walls, with the blocks, rows and columns as underlying familiar structure -- MORE MORE ! - creative sudoku varieties keep me coming back to Amazon, the only place I know to buy Nick Snels collections. Thanks for many hours, and days of dwelling in sudoku HEAVEN !

Wonderful for a train or bus ride somewhere to take you away. I loved this book and will read it again soon. This story is a little bit dark but the humor carries it onward to the end where all is revealed. This is recommended reading.

Fun Scenes, Bad Plot By David Metzger The individual scenes in the book are good (I did particularly enjoy the final action scene), but that's lost on the lack of a good plot. The scenes are very random, don't really tie together. Plus the overall theme is kind-of boring: they're just going to this mine because "hey I need to rebuild my diamond armor." It's a shame that there isn't something more exciting happening overall (like an invasion of villagers, or herobrine trying to take over minecraft) because the writer's action writing is really exciting. If you're looking for an "epic minecraft adventure" this ain't for you. Though I would recommend this book for people you like minecraft, but I would also recommend a good editor for the author as well.

About the Author Stefan Zweig (1881-1942) was an outstanding Austrian novelist, playwright, journalist, and biographer whose work became very popular in the US, South America, and Europe especially between the 1920s and 1930s. In 1904 he earned his doctorate degree in philosophy at the University of Vienna. Throughout his life he remained a pacifist, and instead of becoming a soldier at the start of World War I, he worked in the Archives of the Ministry of War. He became friends with notable people in history, including Romain Rolland, Sigmund Freud, and Arthur Schitzler. Among his most famous writings are Beware of Pity, Chess Story, and his memoir The World of Yesterday.

A dramatic masterpiece By Geoffson1791 Having been an avid fan of Stefan Zweig ever since I read The World Of Yesterday (another must-read), I jumped into the reading of Jeremiah with very high expectations. And again Zweig doesn't disappoint. My perception of the man's writing is that he captures the true quintessence of his characters (be them fictional, or not). It isn't just Jeremiah however who gets a deep, faceted, character-study as the drama unfolds, but as well the mother, Baruch, the King Zedekiah, and many others; though befitting the protagonist, Jeremiah stands above the rest as overwhelmingly multi-dimensional.Upon reading one gets a serious sense of the underlying criticisms of mob mentality, the sin of pride, passivism, the enduring spirit of the Jewish people, and ultimately of Nazi Germany that was to plague Zweig all his life. The work could be interpreted as a satire of the fascist state, or even as a tragic autobiography of the playwright himself. Ok, enough about interpretation, this isn't a high-school essay ha.To detract from the drama is its length. I can find no mention of the play being performed in any venue. It seems Zweig has put so much into moods, relationships, and motives that the work is too immense to successfully perform. But if your looking for a masterful opus to play out in the mind's eye, look no further.

The teacher in my town couldn't even begin to teach as well as Madeline does in this book and DVD. I have loads of dulcimer books and CD's and this is by far the most well done set for beginners. A MUST for the beginning student; there is nothing better than seeing (on the DVD) an accomplished player playing each of the tunes slowly so that you can pick up the proper way to hold, strum and work the frets. I've been playing for two years now and still play some of the tunes from the book. My favorite is Soldier's Joy.

Get the book first so that you can actually see what you are playing.The show the notes on the screen but they are quite blurry. This is a great book and DVD for beginners. You do not need to be able to read music to enjoy learning to play the dulcimer. She goes through ton of standard tunes and takes you though a few modes. I would suggest actually learning the notes and not relying on the tablature forever, but what can I say, I am a musician and I like people to expand their musical boundaries. This book and DVD is a good start.

She shows how to start with very simple tunes, demonstrating techniques patiently.If you want to begin to play the dulcimer, and don't want to pay for expensive lessons, this is the way to start.

By Chris Smith This was worth the 99cents I bought it for, but not much more.All this book is, is a collection of snippets, and newspaper articles hastily cobbled together. There is absolutely nothing in this book that isn't general public knowledge.The author and/or publisher ( or whoever translated this into electronic format ) clearly did not proof read this, as the grammatical standards are of a junior high school student at best. There are so many words that just appear with no context.As for this being "a concise, in-depth biography", what a load of rubbish! If Nigel Cawthorne calls himself a serious author, he should be ashamed of this effort.All in all, it's worth a read, but DON'T PAY MORE THAN 99CENTS for this!

By Peter Gross ...and that is okay, considering that the author took the effort of compiling information from wikipedia and some articles from various tabloids so you don't have to look everything up yourself. Had he given himself more than the 3 hours it took to throw it together, he might have even been able to avoid at least some of the numerous typing errors (or bad grammar).

Irvine I just recently found Greg Easter's youtube channel, which is wonderful, but the live he's lead leading up to now is even more interesting. 40 Years in One Night is a whirlwind tour through the past of a man who started a successful TV repair business having never even opened a TV, got his first programming job less than 24 hours after seeing a computer for the first time, and spoofed his way into cooking in a 2-Michelin star restaurant for an evening because he was served a sub-par lamb curry dish and they had a new hire that shared his name.It's a quick read akin more to a verbal (probably lightly photoshopped) scrap-book than a full autobiography, but it's worth your time.

(Now my neck hurts!) I'm familiar with Chef Greg Easter from his excellent YouTube channel "cookinginrussia". I've been a fan of cooking and cooking shows since I was a child. I loved Graham Kerr "The Galloping Gourmet", and, of course, Julia Child. But, Chef Easter is my all time favorite media chef. His dishes are typically the best version or twist on a given item that I've ever had. But, beyond the cooking, he has always impressed me with his obvious high intellect and seemingly broad range of skills. Being a 40 yr veteran of High Tech and Aerospace, and having gone to college on an Art Scholarship, I have consistently seen hints of his broad background in the versatility of his presentations, including his excellent photography. As I respect and admire his skills, reading this autobiography was a given.He took me on a whirlwind tour of stories that made me laugh, made me empathize with some of the crap he had to wade through in the technical field, and deepened my respect for him and his courage. I consistently felt like we were sitting around and Chef was telling us stories of his past. Try his other books too. His Mixology book is fascinating and helps me make wonderful, clean, fresh tasting cocktails. His YouTube companion Cookbook adds another level of excellence to his body of video work.

About the Author Tracey Ann Ball is an award winning Children's Theater Director/Coach as well as the founder of South Orange County's Top Performing Arts School for Children, "The Center Stage Studio". Miss Ball's Performing Arts School has won several awards including "Best of Orange County", Access Broadway's "Best Debut School" two years running (2014 & 2015), Best Performing Arts School at Turn It Around Performing Arts, & Top Honors at the Musical Theater Competition of America. Tracey Ann Ball has written several children's plays including "My Big Fat Teen Life" which raised money for "Anit-Bullying" Fund of America in 2014. Tracey's love and passion for performing arts and children has been a driving force in the success of several of her graduating students including Amaya & Adriana Braganza (Broadways "Annie" & "The King & I" Revival 2015) and Noah Munck (iCarly).

By Emily Rubino Whether your child is a budding thespian, or if he just likes to play 'pretend', this little gem of a book will become dog-eared quickly. My little sister has already used a couple of Tracey's monologues... with great success!

It is full of monologues that are modest, challenging, yet age appropriate for young kids to older elementary school aged kids. I am a voice and musical theater director for youth performers and I use this book on a daily basis with my private students as they expand their acting range. They absolutely love the monologues provided in this book and the variety of different styles to choose from. My students continue to want more and more! I highly recommend this book to any teachers and families interested in introducing their children to the performing arts.
