About the Author Ryan North is the Toronto-based creator of Dinosaur Comics, co-editor of Machine of Death, and writer of ADVENTURE TIME. He is also the creator of Project Wonderful, an auction-based ad serving system. Boston-based Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb are the artist team behind the top-selling all-ages comic book, ADVENTURE TIME for BOOM! 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Glad I finished the series at least. By Drown Hollum So The Midas Flesh wraps up, and it's still pretty good! The ideas were really excellent here, and the writing ends up pretty serviceable, with fun dialogue, and clear development of the plot. There's a weird line that this book walks, being science focused while also maintaining Greek fantasy law. So is the end a deus ex machina? Is it a cop out? I don't know. I'm not sure the themes set me up to appropriately answer that question. I did think it was pretty dang clever, and the art has a sort of expressive cartoonishness that compliments North's writing style. It's a provocative read, and while I'm not sure that I came away from volume two with anything more than I did from volume one, I'm still glad I read it. This would have read a lot better as one complete graphic novel, and I hope it is eventually collected in that format.
