A literary stroll down Memory Lane By The Movie Man “The Must List” is an overview of the past 25 years of pop culture as covered in Entertainment Weekly magazine. The book is comprised of several lists compiled by the magazine’s editors. They include “The Greats” (movies, comedies, TV shows, albums, books, and young adult novels), “Character Studies” (superheroes, villains, funniest people, animation, transformations), “Story Elements” (steamiest moments, late night comedy moments, special effects, dystopias), and “It’s Been Real” (reality stars, fashion moments that changed entertainment, award-show moments, tech innovations that changed entertainment).The book contains lots of photos — all in full color. This is the kind of book to pick up just before bed. It’s easy to go through a few pages without committing to long chapters. It’s light reading, but fun. Though the book limits itself to the past 25 years, anyone can enjoy it. The book’s magazine roots are evident on every page, since no entry goes into any appreciable depth.One feature of the book that readers might find interesting is its subject by the numbers. For instance, on the entry for Madonna, we learn that she wrote or co-wrote 18 children’s books, spent 4 years in New York struggling before her 1982 hit “Everybody” made her a star, was paid $5 million for endorsing Pepsi-Cola, was nominated 7 times for a Golden Globe, directed 2 feature films, etc. There are also some unusual, but cool lists, such as “Sidekicks,” with two columns matching up characters from movies and TV with their trusted comrades, “Most Romantic Gestures,” and a critical rundown of movie and TV “Mobsters.”“The Must List” reads like a thick magazine. If you want in-depth information about any of the entertainers listed, you’ll have to look elsewhere. In fact, the brief entries do whet the appetite for more expansive information. This book makes a neat gift. Even if an individual is not immersed in all forms of pop culture, the book is a fun read.

Not sure what the average reader would do with it on a regular basis, but it would be a good addition to doctor/dentist waiting room, for example.

About the Author

Tiffany Lovering started tangling as a fun and relaxing craft in between writing novels. As she learned the art of creating different patterns and techniques, tangling quickly became a passion she wanted to share with others. In 2013 she created her own YouTube channel (youtube.com/tiffanylovering) dedicated to showing others her own technique of tangling. She now has more than 400 videos, 41,000+ subscribers and 4 million views on her channel. In addition to YouTube, she has created a small Facebook community where other people who have been using her techniques can participate in a monthly tangle swap that she organizes. She also started a blog at (tiffanytangles.blogspot.com) where she discusses the inspiration and process of the more popular tangles shes created. Excellent Book By Lisa Antunes Excellent book for those just beginning to Zen Doodle or those who are more advanced it gives clear ideas on how to develop your tangles as well as examples and many patterns as well as encouragement for those of us who become discouraged easily. I have bought a few books on this topic and this one by far has more practical advice on how to start, the different mediums you can use, how to go about lettering, design composition but most importantly she encourages exploration to find your own style. I am very happy with the book best one I have bought to date, she also has a YouTube Channel that show you how to draw many tangles I have been a fan of hers since the beginning.

I loved outing but never had so great pics until i read these books. Moss and Lucas are expert and know how to take photos in every situation. Happy to know that a great deal of time explaining the various types of reflections and their characteristics.. I couldn't put it back down again and trying all hacks defined here.

On a cold February morning a woman known as Nance Dude took her granddaughter out of their home and up the side of a mountain. She returned later that day without the child. What Nance did with the child shocked the community, and the story has become a legend in the mountains. Actress Julie Harris ("East of Eden," "Requiem for a Heavyweight," "Lucifer's Child"), read an earlier draft of the screenplay. She said, in a letter reproduced in the book, "Of course, I would love to play Nance -- anytime, anywhere."

In this new book by cultural critic John David Ebert, George Lucas’s 1977 classic film Star Wars is analyzed in a scene-by-scene breakdown. Ebert takes the reader on a semiotic tour through each of the film’s images and scenes, commenting on their significance and relevance to areas of cultural discourse such as critical theory and comparative mythology. Ebert views the film as a Tale of Two Orbs, framing the conflict between the value systems represented by the orbs of the desert planet Tatooine (as a culturally specific world horizon) against those signified by the Death Star (as an example of a globalized Anti-World). In doing so, he argues for the film as the great national American epic: a multimedia spectacle that evades the traditional problems of literary regionalism by engulfing absolutely all of American Pop. Ebert’s analysis is based on the 1997 rerelease of the film, which he tends, somewhat reluctantly, to prefer for its generally more polished, gleaming look. Just like a classic American roadster.

Love these Scene-by-scene books By Nick Sambrook I am really loving reading these scene-by-scene books by John Ebert, and the enlightening approach he has to expanding the discourse and underlying meaning of these film epics. So that in slow motion the intellectual guns are brought to bear on the bunkered iconographic symbols, meanings and story, along with the mythical and archetypal nature of the roles and scenarios which are systematically exposed for all to see. The linkages to previous religious and historical myths and literary legends are explored and the story drawn out from ancient past, along with its underlying role based performances. What makes these books ideal is that for future 'Dungeons and Dragons' style role playing games which 'we' may find ourselves drawn into inreality, they make very good 'Manuals' of how the game is or was played (and replayed), what are the same traps to avoid, who the characters are, and what your intended role and fate may be in all this.In this case John's pen has proved mightier than the lightsabre.
